Support: Industry Collections Licensing Change

Support: Industry Collections Licensing Change

You may remember in a previous post that we mentioned the restriction in the industry collections limiting product use to 2 products in concurrent use.

Effective immediately, Autodesk have removed the industry collection concurrent title restriction and are allowing customers to use as many products concurrently within the collection as they need to support their workflows.  The industry collections continue to evolve and are increasingly focused on the support of multi-product workflows. Autodesk state that this restriction was removed as the limitation did not support this progression.

What are the differences between single-user and multi-user licenses?

Single-user licenses:

  • Works like existing single-user subscription offerings
  • Cloud-based authentication and licensing
  • The user is named to the entire IC
  • A license can not be assigned to multiple users
  • The Named User has full access to the desktop and services
  • The cloud service assignment facilitation (3:1 ratio) does not apply
  • One serial number for all products in an IC; each product has a unique product key
  • 30 day max offline use
  • Internet connection is required

Multi-user licenses:

  • Works like existing multi-user subscription offerings
  • Ability to download and distribute individual products
  • IC license is indivisible: only one user can access the collection at a time
  • Can combine other multi-user licenses with IC licenses
  • License file must be generated for multi-user IC
  • One serial number for all products in an IC; each product has a unique product key
  • Named user has full access to the cloud services
  • Admins can assign/deny access to specific cloud services
  • The cloud service assignment facilitation (3:1 ratio) applies
  • ETR can be ordered following current process
  • Internet connection is not required
